A Hikaru no Go Review : Volume 1
As for Hikaru no Go, this is probably my third time rereading it and it's still extremely interesting. The story's about this boy who finds an old Go board in his grandpa's attic with blood splattered on it. Although there's blood, this manga is definitely not gory in any way, even the ghost is, well not so much like a ghost. As Hikaru attempts to clean the Go board, a ghost named Fujiwara Sai, who was attached to the board awakens. The ghost then attaches himself onto Hikaru, wanting to play Go.
I thought the story went on with a pretty good pace, it wasn't dragging on or anything, as Hikaru's rival appeared in the second chapter. As a fangirl, I find Akira Touya to be absolutely adorable, but that's just me. Anyways, the manga has really good flow. Hikaru slowly becomes attracted to the game Go, but it takes time, which is what makes it realistic. I don't expect him to suddenly be in love with the game in the first chapter. Go is a rather old game, so a normal kid like Hikaru would naturally find it, well boring.
The comedy parts in the manga are pretty funny. It's Sai's chibi expressions that make me laugh everytime, a ghost sobbing isn't something you see everyday. Since no one else can see Sai, it always looks like Hikaru's talking to himself.
Anyways, really good first volume : ] onemanga's perfect for reading it~

Hello everyone, kokoro here! I've newly taken an interest in blogging, particularly in anime. Now I'm completely new at this,
so as much as I wanted to create a new layout, it's pretty impossible. It took over an hour just to get the comment bar to show
up! Anyways, I've been obsessed with anime ever since I was 10 years old. It started with cardcaptor sakura, to my current obsessions
like kuroshitsuji or NANA. Angel Sanctuary ( well anything by Kaori Yuki ), Hikaru no Go, Death Note, Black Cat or Detective Conan.
So I can't really say what genre I enjoy, if it doesn't go all stereotypically then I'd probably check it out. Putting that aside, I'm
usually fairly nice, can get high ( by that I do mean drugs ) on almost anything, and is fairly eccentric~ Oh yeah, a side note, Mystere and
I are not related, so that means we're not siblings, twins or cousins.

Hello! This is Mystere! I'm completely new to blogging and working with html,
and I'm here to help kokoro with her new blogging interests...which also became
one of mine under her constant influences ^^;; I also am interested with graphics,
in which has also been because of kokoro. So, a bit about my anime/manga past,
my very first anime would be Sailor Moon when I was about six year old,
I've also had a four year obsession with Cardcaptor Sakura <3 but not until I was about ten,
did I realize that there were almost infinitely more out there! A lot of my current
favourites are from following koko-chan's footsteps, and completely falling in love
with them~ My list ranges in genres, and including Death Note, NANA, Code Geass, Ouran
High School Host Club, Shinshi Doumei Cross, Para Kiss, xxxHolic and so on~
For personality, I'm a bit quiet, but not shy! So I will open up to about certain things
if the topic really catches my interests ^^ I can be -just a little bit of- a perfectionist sometimes,
and loves to put all my efforts when I'm given a task. I won't stop nitpicking on details until I'm satisfied~
Lastly, an add-on to Koko's side note, no we're not siblings in any way, we're best friends <333

Genre : Games, Psychological, Fantasy, School Author / artist : Yumi Hotta / Takeshi Obata Episodes : 75 - end Volumes : 23 - end Synopsis :
One day a young boy named Hikaru Shindo finds an old Go board in his grandfather's attic with blood on it, as he rubs the surface in an attempt to clean it, a ghost
named Sai suddenly appears in front him. Sai was a tutor of Go for the emperor in the Hein Era, when another tutor frames him for cheating on a game, Sai is driven out of the castle and
commits suicide out of grief. His passion for Go kept his spirit alive as ghost and he attaches on to Hikaru, living inside his conscious in order to play Go, although the boy has no intention of playing Go. However, the thought of
not being able to play Go for Sai is so grieving that Hikaru ends up feeling sick, which is why he eventually gave in. Hikaru's nonchalant attitude towards Go changes
when he meets Akira Touya, a boy the same age as him who's passion for Go startled Hikaru. Akira had played Sai through Hikaru's body and lost, which made him think of Hikaru as goal.
However, when Akira plays the real Hikaru, he is greatly disappointed. Hikaru on the other hand finally sees an interest in Go, and begins chasing after Akira Touya.
